Calvary Baptist Church is an imperfect congregation (of imperfect people shepherded by imperfect elders) that seeks to be a God-centered, Bible-based, family-oriented ministry. We long to be useful to the Master in bringing honor to Him while meeting the needs of those around us. We want to be a place of Godward refuge and refreshment. We want Calvary to be what would be called in the Hebrew language a Beth-Rahamim ("house of mercies"). We want to reflect the image of Christ as described in Isaiah 42:3: "...a bruised reed He will not break and a dimly burning wick He will not quench...."
During our Sunday morning service, Pastor Phil Siefkes is teaching through the Old Testament book of Isaiah verse by verse. Sermon notes from this series can be found on the Sermon Outlines tab. Phil recently completed a series from the New Testament book of Hebrews (see Sermon Outlines tab).
From time to time our Family Bible Time will offer small-group options available for you to learn and grow. The adult classes are normally for those age junior high and older. We recently completed a combined family class on Acts 1-6, focusing on Biblical Evangelism (see Sermon Outline tab). Currently, we are addressing a topical study on a Healthy Church, taught by Pastor Jeff Jakobitz.
During our mid-week service, we have begun studying through the Covenants of God. On the first Wednesday of each month, we host an "Open Forum" during which people can ask our elders any questions they have about the Bible and one's spiritual walk.
